The following three steps are available individually or together as a comprehensive solution:

Good

Surface Grading eliminates existing potholes, washboard, and minor erosion channels. Grading will also create a continuous slope from the center of your lane to the edge. Standard Grading is a maintenance and light repair service. If you have erosion channels deeper than 3 inches or weed overgrowth exceeding a third of the area, we will need to talk by phone to discuss probable time and materials needed for your project.

Better

After the initial grading moves the water to the edge of the road, it is best if a ditch carries the water downhill to avoid the washing of stone off the surface. If your driveway does not have a ditch, we can install a right-sized ditch to match the stormwater runoff needs. Some erosion control measures are employed within the ditch as well.

​As the ditch water runs downhill, it increases in volume and velocity and becomes a threat to eroding and undermining the driveway edge. Velocity is managed with small check dams built with coarse stone within the ditch, which slows the water significantly. High water volume within the ditch is mitigated with culvert pipe that sends water under the road to a natural drainage area where it is no longer yours to manage.
